On the 28 of December 2011 at 04:45 we (Loes, Germaine, Steven & Jaap) took a step to a new incredible adventure/journey. As most of you know we are going to visit new, beautiful places in different countries around the world. 

The idea to travel around the world for a year came up some time ago, when we sat chatting with our friends 'the Anderton’s' after a braai ...would it be nice...... when the we could see and touch where the ancient Greek lived, how big China really is and how it is to talk Spanish. How difficult is it to change your life and live in a different place and community. And if we do IT, when is it the best time to go? 

In 2012 my brother Steven will go to grade 6 and I will go to Camps Bay High School. Perhaps that's when we all decided we wanted to go around the world. 

We all chose a country/place where we wanted to go, my mom    chose the ancient history (Greece, Italy, France) my dad chose China, my brother chose countries of sport (Poland and London) and I chose Argentina (dancing and learning the Tango) and Spain.

Overview of our journey

We are leaving from Cape Town to Joburg and from Joburg we fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina in South America. We stay in Argentina for about three months and then we go from Buenos Aires to Singapore where we stay for 4 days to visit some friends. We go from Singapore to Melbourne/Australia for ten days, where I will visit Loeke, a BFF (Best Friend Forever) from Playschool in South Africa. Then from Melbourne we go to Shanghai/China for about a month. Then we go from Shanghai to Peking (Beijing), where we will stay for two  months. From Peking we take the Transsiberian Express to Vladivostok, via Siberia to Moscow. From there we continue by train and get off in different countries like Poland and Ukraine to see Holland play in the European Soccer Cup. Then on to London for the Olympic games. After the games we go to Olympia -in Greece- where the Games originally started. From Greece we then go west through Classic Europe for the history. We pass Rome in Italy were we also stay, South of France and then we go to Spain. Here we stay for 3 months. Eventually we will try to take a container ship or cargo boat back to Cape Town. By then it will be December 2012.

School

My brother and I like school and therefore we want to be home-schooled.I am really excited to start immediately. I am actually doing maths already because I am in charge of the cashbook of our daily expenses. For my English I am writing our adventures in this blog. 

My brother,Steven has brought many cd's and links to websites and he will insist my dad with sorting out travel arrangements. Like this we all have a task next to our home schooled hours.

I will write a blog every time when there is something interesting to tell/write.I will put pictures and videos to make it more 3D (You do not need special glasses)!!!!
